    About Perth

Situated right on the Swan River, the capital city of Western Australia is splendidly landscaped with parks & gardens, and has cleverly absorbed the demands of modern architecture without spoiling the natural beauty of its surroundings. The Mediterranean climate, sandy white beaches, proximity to the beautiful Darling Ranges and wide variety of outdoor recreations combine to make Perth a fantastic holiday destination. It is the State's centre for the arts, business, government and entertainment. There is an abundance of fabulous riverside and beachside restaurants and cafes, world-class golf courses, over 80 kilometres (50 miles) of white sandy beaches and plenty of accommodation to suit any budget. Perth is also the ideal base from which you can explore the diverse surrounding attractions. Only minutes away, you can visit wineries, swim with wild dolphins in their natural environment, explore Rottnest Island, or visit the colourful towns of Fremantle, Rockingham & Mandurah.

    When to Visit Perth

Perth generally experiences hot, dry summers with long hours of sunshine that allow for extended outdoor activities (Average temperature 17 - 28 Co). Winters tend to be mild with occasional showers (Average temperature 10 - 19 Co). Lightweight clothes are necessary during the warmer months and a few extra layers and a light jacket are useful in winter. The best time to visit is in spring and autumn, when temperatures are pleasant, (Average temperature 13 - 25 Co), and rainfall is minimal.

    Getting Around Perth

Perth’s domestic and international airport is located south of Guildford. It is a modern facility approximately half an hour away from the centre of Perth, with public transport, transfers and car rental are readily available. Jandakot Airport is a light aircraft airport for regional travel also located just 30 min drive south of the CBD. Two major bus terminals and the central train station make public transport access in and around Perth inexpensive and easy. First-class Roads make driving in Perth simple, although the city centre and motorway can get congested during peak hours.
