Wine bats beer out of the field

Wine bats beer out of the field

Beer at its 66-year low.

Australian's are synonymous with beer, yet it looks like sophistication has hit our homes.

Australian beer consumption is at a 66-year low according to the Australian Bureau of Statistics.

SBS has reported that Aussies are drinking more to enjoy the experience rather than to get drunk.

So it looks like our teens may be off the hook if this trend continues.

Overall alcohol consumption has dropped by 1.4 million litres in 2011/2012 while per person we are drinking a 66-year low of 4.14 litres of beer and a record high of 3.8 litres of wine.

So why not head over to our wine section and keep that sophistication flowing?
