for the Health Conscious Sweet Tooths.

For those of us who crave a sweet treat on the regular, it’s hard to deny dessert when it appears before the eyes. If you’ve worked hard to look and feel great in your Summer beach body, but go easy and reward yourself from time to time, then check out some of our lighter dessert options to help you satisfy sweet tooth cravings and keep your fitness goals in sight.

Seven Satisfying Summer Sweets

Coconut Fig Popsicles

Summer is for ice-cream! These dairy and refined sugar free popsicles are just the thing, with the fancy flavour of fresh figs to add a decadent taste.

Raw Vegan Chocolate Orange Torte

Create this decadent torte for birthdays over the Summer months or for a cheeky afternoon pick-me-up.

Baked Plums with Almonds and Buckwheat– Recipe by Chrissy Freer

Pick up some plums, or any stone fruits in season and create this healthy fruit crumble alternative. Serve it to dinner guests perhaps with a scoop of coconut ice-cream to really round out the flavours, textures and temperatures.

Fruit Skewers

Throw these in the freezer and use them to cool off after a workout, or stick them into mineral water and watch the colours disperse as they defrost. Otherwise eat them as is and enjoy a naturally sweet high.

Baked Vanilla Doughnuts

Okay so the word doughnut may turn you away, but give these itty bitty doughnuts a second look. Baked, not deep fried in old oil and served fun size – surely one or two won’t hurt the waistline and will keep your cravings at bay.

Pineapple Sorbet with Pineapple Crisps– Chef Recipe by Luca Ciano

Trick your desires for ice-cream and swap it out for a homemade fresh fruit sorbet instead. If it’s a dinner party dessert, then crisp up some pineapple slices to serve with it too.

Spiced Pears with Oranges and Caramel Sauce

Spoil yourself and leave family around the table wondering how you produced such a rich and fruity dessert dish.
