A passionate plea from tea-loving fans has motivated Lipton Teas and Infusions to relaunch its creamy spiced Chai Latte blend, filling hearts and glasses across the country.
One of those superfans has become the face of the relaunch, heralding the return of Lipton’s Chai Latte to supermarket shelves. After seeing more than 500 people sign a petition and fans flooding Lipton’s channels calling for Chai Latte’s return, Somersby local Gillian Allen was inspired.
She started her online campaign on Facebook, rallying a community to make their wishes clear. Lipton Teas and Infusions noticed and responded. At first, Gillian thought it was a scam and didn’t believe that Lipton would want her to be the face of their new campaign.
It was no joke and Gillian is now featured in promotional material telling the story of how one woman’s love for a cup of Lipton Chai Latte inspired a passionate groundswell of fandom.
Gillian says: "Never in a million years did I think a Facebook group would bring it back. I just missed it so much - it was part of my daily routine and something that brought me comfort. To know so many others felt the same and that Lipton not only listened, but even made me the face of it, is amazing.”
"We've listened to our fans, including the wonderful Gillian, and are thrilled to be bringing back such a well-loved product,” says Sarah Shen, Marketing Manager ANZ at Lipton Teas and Infusions.
"Lipton Chai Latte is back, bringing its signature flavour inspired by traditional chai served in small glass cups from vibrant street carts -perfect for fans seeking a comforting pick-me-up,” Sarah adds.
Hot drinks aren’t the only way to enjoy Lipton Chai Latte. As well as providing a delicious cup of flavour to accompany your afternoon moment of tranquillity, recipe developers on social media are showing that the sky is the limit in terms of desserts and tasty treats.
