Cocktail of the Week from Peel St Mixologist Darius Minuzzo.

Technically, it’s not drinking alone if the bartender is there!

You know the drill…it’s Friday afternoon and time to relax after a long and stressful work week.

What better way to chill out than with a cocktail at your favourite bar or restaurant. Alternatively, you could take the party home and concoct the perfect drink to usher in the weekend.

Welcome to our Cocktail of the Week series, where each Friday we will highlight a cheeky creation to tantalise tastebuds and set the tone for good times.

Fresh, simple and delicious fare bursting with robust flavours is what awaits diners at Peel St in the heart of Adelaide’s CBD. This rustic dining destination oozes charm with exposed brick, a vibrant wall mural and Edison drop globes; while on balmy SA days take to the new alfresco area and enjoy a drink in the sun with friends.

Mixologist Darius Minuzzo utilises the Peel St mantra of using everything on hand at the moment, such as pickled watermelon rind left over from one of the dishes on the menu, for his One in a Melon cocktail.

"The pickle is very refreshing, acidic and sweet, which I wanted to use for this drink. It’s simple and fresh with a nice lick of acid making you want to go back for more,” he explains.

Just make sure every sip is done in the sun with friends!
