Worth a detour? Without question! If not for the picturesque setting, the food at The Lane Vineyard restaurant in Hahndorf certainly makes any travel worthwhile. Nestled in the Adelaide Hills, The Lane Vineyard sits elevated, boasting views out over the vines to the rolling hills beyond. Sample the estate’s range of Block Series wines, which can be ordered by the glass to complement the seasonal menu. Sophisticated entrees like mirin cured kingfish, sesame, nectarine and yolk are sure to excite the tastebuds, ahead of mains like Sher Wagyu, buttermilk, green tomatoes and sea greens; or perhaps chicken breast, charred broccoli, tahini and Korean chilli. Be sure to leave room for one of the superb range of desserts, such as spiced chocolate, raisins, cocoa nib and burnt butter ice cream.

An awesome setting and amazing food and wine
I booked for lunch using the Chefs menu for a large group and was 100% happy with the food, wine, coffee and service. A great menu to choose from with local produce used. Tastings of the wines before lunch made it hard to choose a favourite wine.....I liked the all! An amazing outlook over the hills and vines despite the weather. For a special long lunch it is a must to visit.

Worth the drive. Real value for money. Outstanding food. Not pretentious in any way. Surperb setting. Friendly extrememly well informed staff able to explain anything. Place was packed and this was a weekday lunch. Would recommend it to anyone with extremely high standards and high expectations - you will get all you want and more.
I have eaten here a number of times and the food has always been consistent as has the service - outstanding. I resist the urge to recommend restaurants to others but in fact take my friends here with no fear
Great location with good choise on menu and some great wines to have with your meal. I loved the deserts! The service was great and gave good suggestions regarding wines to try with your meal. Look forward to re visiting.
I think this place and Jolley's are the best in town. Certainly better than Auge/Manse. The best lunch at a winery I've had and better than several highly rated places interstate. All my friends who have been also loved it. I didn't have outstanding service. It was exceptional! My barramundi was amazing. Can't wait to go back.
We had our wedding here and all staff bent over backwards to make it a memorable and relaxed occasion. There was nothing I had to worry about. The wines are outstanding, and so is the food. Any time again! Julia
We thoroughly enjoyed our experience lunching at the lane as a small group, however after trying on a number of occasions to share the experience with colleagues we'd recommended it to, were extremely dissapointed.
They seem to have a kitchen that can't or won't cope with a table of ten.
I would dine there again though, in a group of less than eight it lives up to high expectations.
What a fabulous Dining experience, the view for a start is fantastic , overlooking the Vineyards,with a back drop of rolling hills, so very relaxing. Now the food,divine! cant wait to return! Also most impressed with The Lane, Wines.
