18 Jetty Road,Glenelg SA
Stunning new tapas bar restaurant, situated beach end of jetty Rd. Sensational eclectic decor, with lighting fixtures that are quite eye catching. Passing pedestrians are entranced with the spectacle. The front of the restaurant opens out completely, for the warmer weather, on to a large alfresco area, that over looks Mosely Sq. From the wide ranging Tapas menu, we enjoyed the chefs selection for two, which consisted of genuine Spanish dishes, prepared by the the chef who spent years in Spain. The sauces were quite inspirational. We finished with a Crema Catalana, Spanish style brûlée, with sharp citrus flavours. A most enjoyable dining experience. We must return to try the interesting breakfast menu.
What an asset for Glenelg diners.
Add a dash of vibrancy to dining out and about with a trip to Tasca Viva, a Glenelg tapas bar with Spanish flair, tucked into the Moseley Square precinct. This dynamic, semi-alfresco space comes alive with bursts of colour in all directions on intricately patterned tiles and bright wallpaper, meanwhile a stretching bar boasts alcoholic offerings from around the world illuminated by a warm glow. Inspired by authentic Spanish tapas, diners are spoiled with mouth-watering options crafted using fresh local produce and tantalising spices, with an emphasis on fresh, South Australian sourced seafood. Graze over an array of dishes such as piquillo peppers with goat’s cheese and raisins, paprika lamb skewers with saffron aioli and empanadas, or share a fragrant paella, saving churros for dessert.
Mixed Tapas Platter: two croquettes, two paella balls, two haloumi, olives, mushrooms and patatas bravas.
Notes from Tasca Viva: The menu changes daily according to market availability of fresh ingredients. We are focused on authentic Spanish Tapas using the finest local and imported ingredients. Numerous customers have told us that it is exactly what the area needed. We have a very high standard of fit-out designed by one of Adelaide's leading designers – Enoki. Our style is very eclectic with the use of imported tiles, stunning wallpaper and dramatic lighting.
