Wake Me Up Before You Cocoa – Celebrating All Things Chocolate.

From the Editor, Leigh O’Connor.

The first chocolate bar was created by British chocolatier J.S. Fry in 1847 molded from a paste made of sugar, chocolate liqueur and cocoa butter. Who knew this humble piece of chocolate would change the world?

Who doesn’t like chocolate said no one ever! Here at AGFG, we have several chocoholics who much like coffee drinkers can’t function properly until the first piece of heaven hits their taste buds, so it seems fitting to have a whole week dedicated to chocolate.

This week, The Kitchen at Bec Hardy Chef Connor Bishop dishes up his top five tips for working with chocolate and his recipe for a Jerusalem artichoke and chocolate dessert that will have you salivating.
Experience a symphony of indulgence with this dessert where the richness of Manjari chocolate meets the humble elegance of Jerusalem artichokes transforming the ordinary into the extraordinary, proving that when exceptional chocolate and vibrant vegetables unite, magic happens on the palate.

What’s your favourite chocolate flavour? How about wasabi or pizza? We delve into the weirdest flavours around like insect-covered chocolate and even tobacco – obviously adults-only – which is infused to provide a smokiness to dark chocolate, with notes of sweet vanilla and heady wood running through.
