Slice, Slice Baby: Free Pizza and Feel-good Vibes at Divide 8’s Annual Fundraiser

By Marie-Antoinette Issa.

If you knead a reason to plate up some pizza (but who really does?), then Divide 8 in St Leonards has crunched the numbers and is giving you two - hosting a Free Pizza Day on Saturday, June 14 from 12 pm-3 pm, that will both help you hit your daily carb quota AND do it for a crust-worthy cause.

Back for its third charity event (they’ve already raised more than $5000 for MS Australia and Angel Flight), this year Divide 8 is turning up the heat for Canteen Australia, the legendary charity that’s been supporting young people impacted by cancer for nearly 40 years.

This time, they’re raising dough - literally and figuratively - for a cause that’s close to many hearts and bellies! So, how do you score a hot, cheesy, delicious pizza without dropping a cent?

It’s as easy as pie:

Sign up to Divide 8’s newsletter: divide8.com.au/#signup.

Make a donation of your choosing to Canteen: canteen.org.au.

Follow @divide8.pizza on Instagram to stay in the loop (and drool over their pizza pics).

Then all you have to do is join the queue at 1/48 Albany Street, St Leonards and choose your free pizza from a tasty trio of fan favourites:

Slice, Slice Baby: Free Pizza and Feel-good Vibes at Divide 8’s Annual Fundraiser
Pepperoni2 -  a double whammy of pepperoni, roasted capsicum and mushrooms, crowned with fried capers and optional housemade crushed chilli.

Miss Marg - a classic done right with fresh tomato, buffalo mozzarella and 16-month-aged Grana Padano, finished with fresh basil.

Gr8 Deb8 - this one’s for the pineapple-on-pizza lovers (and haters). It features locally sourced ham, maple bacon, sweet pineapple and Grana Padano cheese for good measure.

To make sure everyone gets a pizza the action it’s one pie per couple or two per group, in-store only. No alterations - but, with flavours this good, why mess with perfection?

It’s not just about the pizza. Divide 8 is rolling in the dough for the community too, working with local legends Fiore Bakery, whose house-baked sourdough forms the base for Divide 8’s housemade garlic bread.

So, grab your mates, bring your appetite and get ready to eat, donate and feel great - because, while nothing feels better than giving back, there’s certainly no harm in doing so with a slice of piping-hot Pepperoni in hand!
