Cocktail of the Week from The Quartier Bistro & Bar - Inspired by the Vivid Festival

Technically, it’s not drinking alone if the bartender is there!

You know the drill…it’s Friday afternoon and time to relax after a long and stressful work week.

What better way to chill out than with a cocktail at your favourite bar or restaurant. Alternatively, you could take the party home and concoct the perfect drink to usher in the weekend.

Welcome to our Cocktail of the Week series, where each Friday we will highlight a cheeky creation to tantalise tastebuds and set the tone for good times.

French for ‘neighbourhood’, The Quartier Bistro & Bar on Gloucester Street in The Rocks is the place to head whether you live nearby or are just passing through. A place of familiar faces and friendly exchanges, The Quartier will always welcome you back to stylish surrounds of plush blue velvet chairs, banquette seating and whitewashed walls adorned with artwork.

Cocktail of the Week from The Quartier Bistro & Bar - Inspired by the Vivid Festival

Mixologist Hitesh Moolchandani has created a cocktail to celebrate Sydney’s Vivid Festival 2024 which kicks off in the Harbour City today and runs until Saturday, June 15.

"Our Tequila in the Lights cocktail is inspired by the Vivid festival,” Hitesh tells AGFG. "The colour blue can be quite reminiscent of the warm hues you might see illuminating buildings during a light festival such as Vivid.”

The cocktail combines tequila, blue curacao, blackcurrant syrup, lime and pineapple juice for a taste sensation – rim the glass with sugar and salt for a sweet and savoury experience.
