Cocktail of the Week from Elements Bar and Grill Darlinghurst Mixologist Bintang.

Technically, it’s not drinking alone if the bartender is there!

You know the drill…it’s Friday afternoon and time to relax after a long and stressful work week.

What better way to chill out than with a cocktail at your favourite bar or restaurant. Alternatively, you could take the party home and concoct the perfect drink to usher in the weekend.

Welcome to our Cocktail of the Week series, where each Friday we will highlight a cheeky creation to tantalise tastebuds and set the tone for good times.

Quality ingredients, cooked to perfection – that’s the simple mantra that sums up everything on the menu at Elements Bar and Grill on Palmer Street in Darlinghurst. On balmy Sydney days dine alfresco and people watch or take in city lights at night; while indoors is elegant and stylish with a sandstone bar, recycled timber and cosy corners ideal for an intimate evening with your someone special.

Mixologist Bintang recommends a signature Blue Devil cocktail to get the party started – bright and tropical this drink is great for those who like a fruity cocktail without being saturated with fruit juice.

"During a staff training session, our bartenders kept on making these cocktails, to which a staff member called the bartender the 'Blue Devil', bringing the cocktail's name to life," Bintang says. "The Blue Curacao gives this drink a deep blue colouring while the tropical flavours give it a devilish kick."

Pair it with a dish from the menu such as a share plate of garlic and Parmesan King prawns, with fresh lemon and grilled bread; or fried chicken wings with signature habanero sauce.
