Next time you visit, Mixologist Megan Barber recommends trying the Parisian cocktail – Reverie Royale:

"When creating the signature cocktail menu for La Stradina, our soon-to-be sister bar to Cooly Breeze Rooftop Restaurant & Bar in Coolangatta, I wanted every drink to tell its own story - a narrative woven from flavours, spirit and history,” she explains.
"Each cocktail celebrates the heritage of a different European country, but my personal favourite is the Reverie Royale, a tribute to France crafted exclusively from French ingredients, each carrying centuries of tradition.”
At its heart lies Martell Cognac, one of France’s oldest and most respected cognac houses, offering a rich, oaky warmth that anchors the drink. Layered onto this foundation is the delicate elegance of St-Germain elderflower liqueur. The elderflowers that inspire it are handpicked once a year from the foothills of the French Alps, making every bottle a seasonal masterpiece tied to the land itself.
The cocktail is finished with accents of rosemary and fig, an aromatic and subtly sweet pairing that recalls the rustic flavours of the European countryside. Together, these elements create a drink that is at once refined and bold - an echo of Paris itself, where centuries-old charm meets modern sophistication.
Sipping the Reverie Royale is like strolling through café-lined boulevards: you begin with the deep warmth of Cognac, move into the floral brightness of elderflower and finish with the grounding notes of rosemary and fig.

It’s not simply a cocktail - it’s an experience, a moment of travel in a glass, designed to transport you from the Gold Coast straight to the streets of France.
"Perfect as an apéritif, a digestif, or even as a cheeky indulgence mid-meal, the Reverie Royale embodies celebration and nostalgia in equal measure. For me, it’s a way of bringing a little slice of Europe home to Australia - something comforting, memorable, and just a little bit magical,” Megan explains.
Try this cocktail on a Friday afternoon to relax after a long and stressful work week. Alternatively, you could take the party home and concoct the perfect drink to usher in the weekend.
