Best Known For
Two, three, five and eight course degustation dinners, with or without matching wines.
Food and wine made with passion and love are on the menu at Bocca di Lupo restaurant at Mitolo Wines, on McMurtrie Road in McLaren Vale. The Mitolo story began in 1999, when dreams of crafting wines to match the rich provenance of soil and Mediterranean climate were born, culminating in today’s vineyard, tasting room and restaurant. Step into an elegant dining room of polished wood floors, beamed ceilings and black and white furniture, creating an ideal vibe to wine down while enjoying a degustation menu. Expect plates like scallops with cucumber, buttermilk and fennel, followed by lamb rack, celeriac, grains and pistachio; or perhaps duck, onion, leek and sorrel with a side of truffle mashed potato. Finish the culinary experience with a divine dessert of strawberry, cardamom and rhubarb.
A few words from Mitolo Wines - Bocca di Lupo
A very exciting first for Mitolo Wines.
Mitolo have stepped outside of McLaren Vale and into the Adelaide Hills to produce a fine pair of elegant, cool climate wines.
Made in small quantities and will release to Wine club members first before the end of the month with a limited purchase allocation.
2018 Mitolo 'Of The Wind' Chardonnay (available now)
Sourced from a single vineyard in Macclesfield, hand harvested bunches were pressed straight to barrel and wild fermented, producing a beautifully layered and complex Chardonnay. Aromas of ripe white peach and fig are underscored by attractive notes of roasted cashew contributed by the barrel fermentation. Delivering a lovely creaminess to the palate which resolves itself in a long savoury finish. RRP $50 per bottle.
2018 Mitolo 'Of The Earth' Pinot Noir (available Dec)
A mature vineyard situated near the town of Balhannah, in the Northern end of the Adelaide Hills, provided the fruit for this bright and delicate Pinot Noir. Vibrant fruit characters of red cherry and redcurrant leap out of the glass. A portion of the hand harvested bunches left whole in the wild yeast ferment, contributing to a fragrant, spicy background lift to the fine boned red fruit flavours. Neither fined nor filtered, a hands off approach has captured the essence of this pristine slice of the Hills. RRP $50 per bottle.
