15mL Laphroaig 10 YO
5mL organic maple syrup
2 dashes Angostura orange bitters
2 dashes Angostura bitters
Hickory wood chips (for smoke)
Add bourbon, Laphroaig, maple syrup and both bitters in a mixing glass filled with ice. Stir gently for 15–20 seconds until well chilled and properly diluted.
Single-strain into a decanter. Infuse the decanter with hickory wood smoke using a smoking gun. Seal and let rest briefly to allow the cocktail to absorb the rich and aromatic layers.
Smoke the serving glass with hickory wood chips to add a second layer of smoke.
Pour the cocktail into the smoked clear rocks glass over a large ice cube.
Express an orange peel over the drink and run it along the rim of the glass.
Garnish with a fresh orange slice and a maraschino cherry.
