The Gem of Traralgon

Not normally one to review, but I feel like this deserves a mention! Firstly absolutely fantastic service, it won't take long before the staff/owners know you by name! The food is beyond mention, enough daring and adventure to intrigue the most avid explorer but with enough heart and care to remind you of the good home cooked meals mum used to make! It's substance that counts with food, and each dish is like a well thought out recipe, hand crafted. Its a quiet retreat from the busy streets where you can relax and unwind. Coffee and Hot Chocolates are to die for and exclusive to the venue! (If anyone knows the recipe to their Hot Chocolate, I will leave my e-mail at the bottom!) Great place. Fun fact, I'm not related to the owners, nor a staff member. I just think it deserves a good review!

Catinalla's Overview

For a taste of sumptuous Italian cuisine in Traralgon, visit Catinalla’s Caffe and Wine Bar on Franklin Street, just off the Princes Highway. A warm and lively cafe atmosphere greets guests as friends catch-up and unwind together out in a garden setting or perched up at a window bar with a glass of Italian imported wine. Recreating traditional family recipes, an Italian inspired menu offers a selection of risottos, pastas and meat based mains full of fresh produce from local suppliers including vegetables and herbs from their own Gippsland farm's market garden. Share an antipasti platter for two with a charcuterie selection, marinated vegetables, olives, breads and pickles for leisurely dining or delve into a spicy Frutti di Mare pasta with a mix of succulent seafood and fresh herbs.

Best Known For

The Catinalla's Special Pasta: chilli, anchovies, basil, spring onion, parsley, olives, capers, cherry tomato, croutons, oil and lemon with your choice of pasta. Bolognese with authentic veal and pork mince sugo.
