An adorable ‘Teddy Bears Picnic’ at Abercrombie House and a three-day country music festival ‘Reckless Western Winter’ are two new events announced for families visiting Bathurst these July school holidays.
From July 4-20, 2025, Winter in Bathurst offers a jam-packed program with themed days at the renowned ice-rink, night markets and unique experiences at some of the 20 museums and historic houses across the region. Those little minds will boggle in woolly hats!
While the official Bathurst Winter Festival is taking a break in 2025, this year’s program organised by local businesses is sprinkled with extra Winter magic. It is the perfect time to soak up the atmosphere of country NSW.

A new experience this year is the Teddy Bears’ Picnic at historic Abercrombie House on Thursday, July 10, celebrating International Teddy Bear Day. The day will feature live music, face painting, teddy bear competitions and a special self-guided ‘Christmas in July’ tour of the historic house.
Entry is free for children under 10 and just $5 for adults. Guests are welcome to bring a teddy bear, picnic or enjoy on-site food options.
From July 4-20, The Greens on William will host the McDonald's Bathurst Ice Rink, open daily from 9 am to 9 pm. The rink will feature themed dress-up days, kids’ days and special All Abilities Days to ensure everyone can join in the fun.
The festivities kick off with the Armada Bathurst Brew & Bite Night Markets on July 4 and wrap up with the Verto Brew & Bite Night Markets on July 20 - both offering delicious food, drinks and entertainment.

For music lovers, Reckless Brewing Co. presents the inaugural Reckless Western Winter, a three-day country music celebration from July 11–13. The event will feature live music performances, market stalls, local wines, spirits, food and of course beer and a mechanical bull.
Families can enjoy a variety of activities across more than 20 museums and historic houses in Bathurst, including the Winter Quest Scavenger Hunt and creative workshops at the Bathurst Library.
