Spring at West HQ: Eat, Play and Stay a Little Longer

By Marie-Antoinette Issa.

Spring has officially sprung at West HQ, and the precinct is bursting with reasons to linger. While Sydney’s western suburbs are no strangers to family-friendly hangouts, West HQ has taken it up a notch, blending serious seasonal eats with playful experiences and a splash of live entertainment to make every visit feel like an event.

For food lovers, the lineup is a feast of sharing, indulgence and value. Start with West HQ’s $29 Steak Night - a perfectly cooked classic that’s hearty enough to satisfy any carnivore. Pizza fans can grab two at Pizzaperta Manfredi for $25, ideal for passing around the table, while New Town Thai tempts with a $29 Spring Sharing Meal designed to celebrate fresh flavours and communal dining.

Families aren’t left behind, with Sunday roasts at $36 offering all the trimmings without the fuss and weekday lunches across Eat St. for just $15 giving busy Sydneysiders a reason to linger over a long, unhurried bite. Harriet’s Chicken throws in a playful double act - two burgers for $36 - pairing comfort and flavour with casual fun.

West HQ’s culinary offerings aren’t just about the plate. Thursday nights shimmer with Shanghai Chic at CHU Restaurant, where live music, $10 handcrafted cocktails and complimentary canapes meet the glamour of 1940s Shanghai reimagined with modern Pan-Asian flair. Golden hour cocktails become the perfect companion to the precinct’s buzzing energy and for those lucky enough, the Kia giveaway adds a pinch of excitement to the evening.

For the adventurous and active, the SGAC Ninja Program is letting kids unleash their inner warriors with obstacle courses, gymnastics and parkour-inspired classes designed to build confidence, strength and coordination. From Tuesday to Thursday, little ninjas can test their agility while parents enjoy a moment to soak in the surrounds or savour a leisurely bite.

For those craving a night out, the Coliseum Theatre cements West HQ as a live entertainment destination. From Suzi Quatro’s timeless rock anthems to Lee Kernaghan’s arena-sized country storytelling and Anh Do’s laugh-cry inspiring memoir brought to life on stage, there’s a performance for every taste. Even holiday-season magic gets a run with Cosentino’s illusions, Jersey Forever, and the theatrical spectacle of Shrek: The Musical.

Whether you’re sharing dumplings with friends, sipping a cocktail while listening to live music, or cheering on your kids as they navigate a ninja course, West HQ proves that the west isn’t just about convenience - it’s about creating moments worth lingering over.
