Sydney is adding a little alpine allure to its harbour views with Après on the Harbour - the seasonal sensation from Pier Bar that’s turning up the toastiness on waterfront dining.
Forget the frostbite and skip the ski pass. Nestled on the edge of Walsh Bay with the twinkling city skyline and Sydney Harbour Bridge in full view, this Winter pop-up is part Aussie Winter cool (literally), part Euro-chic chalet and all heart…and heat! Think flickering firepits, faux fur throws, glowing trees and candle-lit fondue.

Arrive hungry and get ready to call comfort food your friend. There’s a gooey cheese and truffle jaffle packed with potato bake, a bubbling oven-baked Camembert and a tuna melt that’s redefining retro. Come home strong with a rich Wagyu ragu orecchiette that proves there’s more to Italy than Aperol Spritz even if your social media feed is currently telling you otherwise!
Another made-for-the-dropping-mercury feature is the cabanas. Designed for groups of four to 14, they offer the perfect excuse to round up the gang for a Winter gathering with a little Euro flair. Wrap yourself in a throw, pull up a seat by the fire and let the Alps-inspo strike, while satisfying your sweet tooth with the Biscoff fondue. Lit by candlelight and served with strawberries, marshmallows and pretzels, it’s dipped, drizzled and destined for your socials.

The Winter cocktail list is also made for toasting and posting. Whether you’re sipping a hot toddy by the flames or clinking glasses with a cool concoction beside the harbour, the new five-strong cocktail line-up is designed to pair with the menu - and the mood.
Open daily from noon until late, Après on the Harbour proves that Winter in Sydney doesn’t mean retreating indoors. Instead, it invites you to embrace the chill, bask in the glow and gather your favourite people for an alpine-inspired escape where the only slopes are the curve of your wine glass.
Spots at Après on the Harbour are limited. So, if you want a front-row seat to Winter magic, get in faster than the frostbite chasing you. This luxe little lounge may be no skis, no stress - just style, skyline and seriously good snacks, Sydney-style - but it is only open until the end of August.
