Tucked beneath Russell Street in Melbourne’s CBD, Izakaya Miyazaki offers an intimate and refined Japanese dining experience. The subterranean setting exudes a moody elegance, with dim lighting and minimalist décor that transports diners to a Tokyo-style izakaya. The open kitchen adds a dynamic element, allowing guests to witness the meticulous preparation of each dish.
Why should you drop in for a meal at Izakaya Miyazaki? Here are three good reasons:
What is a must-try dish/drink?
Our A5 Miyazaki Wagyu dishes - namely our A5 Miyazaki Wagyu tataki and Miyazaki Wagyu steaks.

They are a must-try because there is absolutely no other venue in Melbourne that offers Miyazaki Wagyu; in this instance, Kobe Wagyu is often more recognised due to its name, but Miyazaki Wagyu has repeatedly won awards in Japan’s National Wagyu Awards, often outperforming Kobe in categories such as marbling and flavour.
What is your point of difference, what sets you apart?
Our commitment to excellent produce and our self-built supply chain from Japan sets us apart because we are able to directly source produce such as the Miyazaki Wagyu we serve and Hokkaido uni as fresh as possible, without the need of relying on third-party importers/distributors.

Tell us something not many people know about the venue?
Most high-end Japanese establishments in Melbourne are close to or are fine-dining establishments. We present ourselves as purveyors of fine foods, but in a casual, laid-back, fun Izakaya-style dining experience. It should not be intimidating to the everyday diner and we certainly endeavour to spruce up the standard of fun.

Are you always on the lookout for a new café, bar or restaurant to indulge yourself, family and friends?
No sweat…we have you covered! Every week AGFG will aim to let you know what new venues have opened in your area and why you should give them a try.
You can help too – just click here to email our PR team and let us know of a new eatery in your suburb so we can inform everyone and help these establishments thrive and survive during tough times.
