In 2025, Australia’s regional truffle events include hunts and tasting experiences as we celebrate everything black gold from this month.
One of the largest events, Truffle Kerfuffle in Manjimup, Western Australia, is one\ hiatus this year with organisers believing several festival events need improving and fine-tuning. Don’t worry, it will be back better than ever in 2026.
Here’s a guide to how to get your truffle on this season:
Hunt for your own truffles in the Truffiere before heading to the restaurant to enjoy a memorable meal at Black Cat Truffles by Liam Downes on Howards Road in Wattle Flat. This Ballarat fine dining destination is the culmination of a dream for the Downes family of growing their own produce to showcase in paddock-to-plate cookery, as well as minimising waste and sourcing ingredients from the surrounding area.

Embark on a sensory journey where the magic of the season unfolds with a truffle hunt and immerse yourself in the fascinating world of truffle foraging, guided by expert handlers and their incredible truffle-hunting companions.
Following the hunt, indulge in the exquisite flavours in a truffle-influenced degustation and savour the unique and earthy notes of these culinary gems, expertly incorporated into each course.
