Cocktail of the Week from Toscano Bar & Kitchen.

Technically, it’s not drinking alone if the bartender is there!

You know the drill…it’s Friday afternoon and time to relax after a long and stressful work week.

What better way to chill out than with a cocktail at your favourite bar or restaurant? Alternatively, you could take the party home and concoct the perfect drink to usher in the weekend.

Welcome to our Cocktail of the Week series, where each Friday, we will highlight a cheeky creation to tantalise tastebuds and set the tone for good times.

Escape the hustle and bustle of Brisbane City to come together with friends and family at Toscano Bar & Kitchen on Edward Street. This modern Italian cocktail bar and restaurant, located opposite the Botanical Gardens, exudes an elegant ambience of high ceilings and beautiful furnishings, along with glowing neon signage proclaiming ‘Good food, good wine, good friends, good times’.

Cocktail of the Week from Toscano Bar & Kitchen.

From mixologist Antonio Toscano, comes this cocktail recipe for the Smoking Mirror, blending the richness of spiced rum with a touch of bitters and housemade smoked paprika syrup.

This delicious cocktail is like no other - it's both masculine and feminine as well as sweet and smoky. Smoked in a glass box with rich applewood, the box is then delivered to guests at their table, still filled with a light covering of smoke.

Guests are then invited to open the box door, revealing their cocktail and a dramatic display. The smoke floats quickly to the ceiling and excitement is heard from across the bar. It's quite the show!

The drink got its name from the signature smoking process, which fills the glass box, mysteriously disguising the cocktail. As the glass door is opened, the smoke dissipates and reveals this stunning drink.
