Cocktail of the Week from Mykonos Taverna.

Technically, it’s not drinking alone if the bartender is there!

You know the drill…it’s Friday afternoon and time to relax after a long and stressful work week.

What better way to chill out than with a cocktail at your favourite bar or restaurant? Alternatively, you could take the party home and concoct the perfect drink to usher in the weekend.

This week we are heading to the Mediterranean for a taste of the Agean:

Save yourself the airfare and head to Portman Street in Oakleigh to discover a slice of the Greek Islands at Mykonos Taverna. Take a seat in the renovated dining area and be convinced you are shoreside to the Mediterranean, overlooking a life-sized mural adorned with soft, whimsical fabrics, seashell pendent lights, stone flooring and relaxed seating, while aqua tones evoke visions of the ocean.

Cocktail of the Week from Mykonos Taverna.

Pair mezze plates like fried squid, aioli and salad, or Greek meatballs with a selection from the cocktail list to kickstart a memorable meal sure to get the plates smashing.

The Mykonos Spritz is a rare drinking experience - vibrant in colour and taste. The base alcohol Mastika – an ode to the restaurant’s Greek origins and made from the resin of native Mastic trees on the island of Chios - offers sweet notes reminiscent of pine and cedar, paired with the subtle bitterness of Vermouth.

One sip and you’ll be transported to aqua seas, sandy shores and idyllic islands…believe us!
