Australia Joins Global Wellness Day for the First Time

Free wellness events will take place across the country as Australia celebrates Global Wellness Day fully for the first time.

Proudly presented by Well Traveller, Australians wanting to connect to wellness are encouraged to save the date – Saturday 14 June – and register to be the first to hear about the comprehensive free events program.

Global Wellness Day is a not-for-profit movement celebrated in more than 170 countries. Its mission is simple but powerful: to inspire people to live well, with the belief that one day can change your whole life.

This year’s theme, Reconnect, invites Australians to pause and reflect on what really matters – from our connection to ourselves and the natural world, to our relationships with family, community and culture.

Events on the Australian program have been curated in line with this theme, from yoga in the park and sound healing to bushwalks, breathwork and family-friendly wellness activities.

All events are free to attend and will take place across metro states and territories and regional areas including Byron and the Adelaide Hills.
Two Well Traveller flagship experiences that will feature on the Global Wellness Day program include:

Your Morning Ritual – On the Harbour: a guided experience to start the day blending gentle movement, mindfulness and meditation whilst taking in the spectacular views of Sydney Harbour. Continue your morning experience with a short walk.

Healing Herbs - Harness the Lifeforce of Nature for Wellbeing: whereby attendees will explore the Royal Botanic Sydney’s herb garden with Jurlique skincare Farm & Tourism Manager Cherie Hutchinson and discover how herbs and botanicals have been used for centuries to lift moods, heal bodies and nourish your skin.

The experience includes a complimentary full-sized Jurlique skincare gift to continue the ritual at home.

Katherine Droga, founder of Well Traveller has been announced as Australia’s Global Wellness Day Ambassador, says the day is a beautiful reminder that wellness doesn’t have to be expensive or exclusive.

"It’s about simple, accessible moments that help us feel better in our bodies and calmer in our minds. When we prioritise our own wellbeing, that has a ripple effect – especially for our kids, our families and our communities,” she says.

As a mother and passionate wellness advocate, Katherine’s connection to the day is deeply personal.

"I’ve seen the power of early wellbeing habits in my own family. If we can model that for young people – to pause, to move, to breathe and get into nature – we’re setting them up for lifelong health,” she says.

Katherine is also one of Australia’s most respected voices in wellness travel and tourism. As founder of Well Traveller and Well Traveller TV, creator of the Wellness Wander Festival, Chair of the Global Wellness Institute’s Wellness Tourism Initiative and founder of Droga & Co, she is well placed to support Australians finding their well place.

Well Traveller’s involvement in Global Wellness Day also marks the launch of its new What’s On Wellness Calendar – a curated, searchable hub of wellbeing experiences across Australia, organised by destination, feel-state and experience type.
