It’s GIVEAWAY TIME again!
As we officially announce the AGFG 12 Days of Christmas giveaways, we take a quick look into the tradition of where exactly did the phrase come.
For example, did you know that the 12 Days of Christmas signifies the time period AFTER December 25 and not the countdown to Christmas?
You see the 12 Days of Christmas is a time period that describes the time from Christ’s birth to the arrival of the three wise men, or magi, as they are technically known, on January 6 - a period of 12 days.
Then there’s the song ‘The 12 Days of Christmas’. This stems from a period in ancient history when Christians weren’t allowed to worship and so a song was written about the gifts that define different aspects of faith.
We aren’t sure what turtle doves or partridges in a pear tree mean, but we do know what the 12 days of Australian Good Food Guide Christmas means! That’s 12 days of giveaways and we are really excited to play the role of culinary Santa and share some things we think all foodies will love this Christmas season.
To enter, simply head to our competitions page to go in the running to win one of the 12 days! All you need to do to enter is tell us if you could pick one of the following, which would it be?
Read along to pick your favourite from our 12 Days of Christmas Giveaways!
Day 1: CLOVER HILL WINES. A multi-course dining and tasting experience for two.
The Clover Hill Pipers River vineyard site capitalises on three natural assets – a cool maritime climate, ancient volcanic soils and a sheltered amphitheatre. This 66-hectare property overlooking Bass Strait was created to rival the wines of Champagne. Clover Hill blends the finest traditions of this famous region with its own distinguished Tasmanian style. To kick off the season, one lucky winner will experience the Clover Hill hospitality and be treated to a multi-course dining and tasting experience for two, valid in 2024.
