Tucked close by to Petrie Plaza and the City walk is The Chairman & Yip restaurant. This modern Chinese restaurant has been established for 16 years. Like the menu the décor is a cultural fusion of East Meets West; walls of rich red meet bold black striking yet harmonious; creating a semi formal mixed atmosphere. The fused menu could have Porkchops with red dates, honey and ginseng as well as Stir fried pumpkin and cucumber with chilli and plum jam.

Most amazing food I’ve had in a while
Not open Mondays, however.
I've been eating here for years, and have always enjoyed the interesting east-meets-west atmosphere and food. Service is always helpful, friendly, and attentive, considering how full it always seems to be. Good wine list, too. Definitely worth a visit (and many returns).

I like this place. It is not traditional or high Chinese cusine, but it serves good food with interesting flavour combinations which work. The ambience is contemporary Chinese but not sterile or fussy. It is a cosy restaurant with good, friendly service and is good value. It enjoys a well deserved popularity.
This was one of the first experiences I'd had with fine dining style chinese. It was fantastic and a real eye opener about what what can be done with their combination of flare, tradition & skill.
