About Assembly Bar

Escape Sydney CBD’s daily grind and find a moment of solace at Assembly Bar on Kent St. Perch on a stool by an intricately tiled bar and watch as pizzas disappear into a concreted wood fire oven, or opt to dine at an intimate table for two, surrounded by a clever fusion of earthy and industrial elements. Guided by exec Chef Felix Rutz with two pizza Chefs from Napoli, Marco de Marco and Andrea Celentano, Assembly’s menu provides a plethora of dishes filled with fresh produce and premium, Italian products. Start with an antipasto platter of mixed meat, cheese and olives or perhaps tempura calamari, before sharing pizzas made to order, topped with mozzarella Fior di latte, gorgonzola, speck, Parmesan and basil; or twist a fork around a classic spaghetti Bolognese with beef and pork ragu.

four of us landed at the this new restaurant last night host at the front said it had been open a few weeks, got to shout out to the floor staff very casual but attentive Italian style and loads of explanation of dishes when i asked. It was the food that blow us away was not expecting it. i guess being in the china town end of town the location was hard to get to but worth it. Quality everywhere, the decor is cosy. they have it all sorted out the dishes were all amazing. We shared most of the dishes but the crab and pawn pasta house made was outstanding-did not try the pizzas but i saw loads coming out and took a photo and ill be back for sure for these. very authentic but modern. sorry about photo quality I'm on an iPhone 4. 5 stars for food guys. thanks the pic is the beef cheek risotto special and was offered with a paired red wine can not remember wine name but the flavour of this was perfect. I love Italian food and its up there with the best this dish. Prices are ok.
