A seamless flow of service for a hassle free night. Grossi Florentino offers something for everyone, whether pre-drinks in the cellar, an a la carte dining service in the Grill or upstairs in the plush dining hall upstairs for either a three or five course degustation menu, or perhaps the intimate and private function room with space just large enough for a single round table. On this particular night the Grill was the destination of choice and a late arrival due to delayed flights was apparently not a problem at all. We were swiftly relieved of our luggage which was stowed in a spare room under the stairs and shown to a table for two by the open kitchen, immediately given menus and poured a glass of water each. How nice it was to finally be waited on without any break of fluent service. The meals were absolutely delicious, though more vegetables in our meat based meals would have been nice, but aren't usually expected to be a big influence in the dishes ordered. It would also have been helpful if the lighting was just slightly brighter so we could see what we were eating. An impossibly large wine list was narrowed down by the help of our waiters who, despite being incredibly busy with all tables filled, were attentive without being overbearing. Our meals were delivered with timeliness and it truly was a beautiful dinner. Thank-you Grossi Florentino for giving us a night of lovely dining.
I love the food at the cellar bar. I have eaten here 3 times recently and dream about the Calamari salad. I also love the vongole pasta, flavours were perfect. The staff are nice enough, but I do feel that the service is not quite on the "smart and friendly' side' but bordering on the 'arrogant' side. It maybe just me.

Amazing service,amazing food. Had the 8 course degustation. Sensational food matched to sensational wine. Memorable night on my ninth wedding anniversary. Can't wait to return !! Highly recommended.

A night out at the theatre in Melbourne and you can't go past Grossi's pre-theatre menu. It is such excellent value for money (around $35 for 2 courses) and the food is nothing short of spectacular. Keep an eye out for celebrities too... we dined next to Geoffrey Rush and his wife on our last visit!

I took my mother here for dinner pre-theatre. We dined in the Grill, and everything was fantastic! After a very disappointing evening at Money Order Office the night before, the service and the food couldn't have been more different! The staff were very attentive and knowledgeable without being overbearing, and the food was delicious. Possibly the best croquettes and lamb I have ever had! Definitely worth checking this place out if you haven't already!
One of my favourite restaurants in Melbourne. Let me explain -there are actually 3 restaurants in the one complex called Grossi Florentino - the cheap eats priced Cellar Bar, the moderately priced Grill and the up-market Restaurant upstairs. As a regular customer, I can vouch for the terrific quality, friendly service and value for money. Gets crowded in the Cellar Bar during peak times, you cannot book a table here. You can book in the moderately priced Grill - where I recommend their 2 course meals for $35. The Restaurant upstairs I recommend for special occassions. Convenient location for dining before the Theatre. My only criticism is that it is closed on Sundays.
This has to be one of the best "special occasion" restaurants in Melbourne. Or Australia for that matter!!Table of 7, we all loved the place. The food was faultless, as was the service. One of our group, a strict vegatarian, was so well looked after and nothing was too much trouble to cater to her requirements, even on a very, very busy Friday night.Congratulations to all at Grossi Florentino, you made our celebration even more memorable.
