About Tulum Restaurant

Tasting is believing at Tulum Restaurant where Turkish cuisine is given a fine dining makeover thanks to the revival of classical Ottoman dishes. Homed on Carlisle Street in Balaclava, Tulum is frequented by Melbourne foodies, enjoying a polished vibe where crisp whites and warm timbers are complemented by calming turquoise tiles, shaped like overlapping fish scales. Giving traditional dishes a flick of modern panache, a skilful team produces meals to make you salivate and mezze plates to graze over with friends. Savour a serve of sardines with pickled cucumbers, or lentil meatballs, cos lettuce and lemon jell; before a main share plate of lamb rump, cinnamon blood plum, mastic cream and samphire. For a sweet finish, try semolina helva, walnuts, pomegranate molasses and aubergine mousse.

Modern creative Turkish Restaurant
Best Turkish Restaurant in Audtralia. Fresh food with Turkish spices creative dishes but still Turkish tastes. One of the best food I had in 2016.

Loved the food and atmosphere. Best food I have eaten since I came to Melbourne. Highly recommend the food especially Lakerda and Ordek.

Best chef of Istanbul Coskun, has opened his place in Australia... The cuisine is the interpretation of Anatolian Kitchen, applying contemporary techniques and mind blowing flavour combinations.

We went with a few friends and thoroughly enjoyed the evening. The service was friendly and helpful and the menu was interesting. Reminded us a lot of turkey but all the dishes had an interesting twist to it. A touch noisy on a busy Friday night but ok for a table of six. Definitely one of my new favourite places!
