Toko restaurant, located on George Street in Sydney’s CBD, offers contemporary Japanese dining in a sleek, dimly lit setting featuring both a sushi bar and robata grill counter. Since relocating from Surry Hills, Toko has continued its legacy of marrying modern izakaya-style dishes with Australia’s top seasonal produce, while the beverage list features premium Japanese sake, whisky and well-curated global wines. Say arigatou to starters such as beef tataki with pickled onions, mizuna and garlic chips, or tempura Moreton Bay bug, with yuzu koshou mayonnaise; before robata grill options such as grilled scallops, pickled apple and jalapeño, lamb cutlets with spiced miso and pickles, or black cod with saikyo miso and pickles. Finish indulgently with chocolate fondant, hazelnut and ice cream.
