Since the renovations, new owners and staff it is a wonderful "country pub" with beautiful food, friendly happy staff. Cold drinks and atmosphere is amazing

Good Country Pub!
On a whim I decided that we may indulge in a counter lunch at the White Hart Hotel Longwood Victoria on Wednesday 21st January 2015. Investigation revealed that this was impossible as the Hotel only opened at 3pm on the first three days of the week so we settled for Thursday 22nd and made reservations for my wife, sister and I on that date at 12pm. Arrived spot on time as is my wont and we were affably greeted at the bar and shown to our table at the bistro. The barman, whom I understood to be the owner Stuart, ran though the menu and apologised that a number of dishes were not available because they received their normal weekly deliveries from 12pm on Thursdays As soon as he disappeared a young bearded gentleman arrived at the tableside, and repeated the owner’s saga of woe but we decided that there were still choices to be made. As most of the entrees and starters were ‘”off” we settled on the main course only with my wife and I both having the porterhouse steak well done, she with garlic butter chips and salad and myself with pepper sauce and similar accoutrements. My sister ordered the chicken pasta with mushrooms but requested that they go easy on the pasta. All meals were serve hot and simultaneously after about a 30 minute wait. Very good considering the well done porterhouse requirement. Serves were generous, as can be seen from the photos and the steak was just well done as requested. The condiments were plentiful and flavoursome and my sister enjoyed the creaminess and flavour of the pasta with the actual pasta component not being excessive as requested. We were well served and informed by the chef Mr Dameon Holmes, who also doubled (or tripled) as Matre de Haut, Waiter and Cook. The Hotel is one of the old country pubs though it is restored to reasonable standard and looks neat and tidy. There is an enormous “’al fresco’’ area at the rear as well as a “Park Atmosphere”’ type area which blends seamlessly into a well-kept park area referred to as the “Pub

Had the pork cutlet so tender and moist and a fantastic coleslaw to accompany and a fellow diner had the lamb cutlets and pesto which was to die for well done and will return Michael
