Circa 1880, the charms of historic venue, The Riverview Hotel & Dining on Birchgrove Road in Balmain remain, frequented by locals in search of icy beverages and sumptuous cuisine. Split into varying spaces, The Riverview offers a casual bistro setting on ground level for after-work drinks and tasty bar snacks, while a second story embraces a refined ambience for family and friends to dine at leisure, surrounded by elegant décor in Birchgrove restaurant. Embark on a memorable culinary journey with grilled Yamba prawns, lemon myrtle butter, fresh herbs and grilled lemon; before pork belly, pomme purée, apple sauce, crackers, Dutch carrots and jus. Perhaps lamb curry with Himalayan spices, saffron rice and papadum tempts, finishing with sticky date crumble, butterscotch sauce and ice cream.

Love, love, love!
I absolutely love this gem of a pub! It is a hidden little treasure in Balmain. Attentive service, gorgeous decor, wine list is amazing and best of all, the food is brilliant. I have been a few times, and thoroughly enjoyed the Sunday Roast beef, with a Yorkshire pud!! My other favourite is the crispy duck salad, absolutely delish and they make GREAT cocktails - try the Aperol Spritz. We were lucky enough to be there on a Sunday and was able to enjoy some great live music by some very talented Sydney artists.
Go visit if you're looking for a smaller pub, with charm, great fun staff and live music; you won't regret it!
This is a beautiful old building, gorgeously decorated. the food was stunning, made you feel all cosy and warm. the service was very personal and all in all made for a very enjoyable evening.
