About Matteo's
Seeking space, style and sumptuous dishes? Matteo’s in Fitzroy fits the criteria and welcomes you to its Victorian terrace home. A feeling of nobility exudes the dining room; regal tones of red, purple and deep blue explain why. It’s the wallpaper with its calligraphy design in pink and gold that’s centre stage though. This venue is cool but still comfortable; even more so with its rare Victorian wines. The menu could include: Japanese seafood plate - steamed chawan mushi custard, yabby tail, ginko nut and soya beans; or five-spice roast duck breast - duck neck and pork sausage, Peking cabbage and bamboo shoot okonomiyaki pancake, stir-fried choi-sum and hoisin duck sauce.

I have had two fantastic dining experiences here. Ticks all the boxes. You can't get no dissatisfaction here.
Matteo's is a place I like to go after a hard week or a really good week. It has great food and extraordinary staff. The food is inventive and the wine list is comprehensive.
I ate here with my partner last night (he is a chef) and we were so pleased with the food, wine and service we tipped more than 20%......it was a tastebub delight. The desserts were an amazing end to the evening and we never had to ask for service.... this is rated very highly in my book
