Stunning Food, excellent service
The steak was worth every dollar. Melt in the mouth. Excellent wine menu. Desserts were outstanding. We will return
The squid and mussels in hazelnut milk
Gerard's Bistro is my favourite restaurant in Brisbane. My son and I had an amazing lunch recently where we sampled five varieties of oysters including Moonlight Flat oysters. We had the confit southern squid, mussels, hazelnut milk, warrigal greens, and kishk. We could not get enough of the hazelnut milk sauce! We then had the suckling pig, tahini fried cauliflower with smoked almonds and pomegranate, with a amazing middle eastern rice called 'Morasa Polow'. Our favourite was one of the desserts, which was an eggplant sorbet, sweet and savoury tahini crumb, and coffee shards If someone had told me an eggplant sorbet is to die for, I would have been sceptical. However, this was the most amazing and different dessert we have had so far.
Definitely would go back again and again
Excellent brisket and charcuterie platter. Service was excellent. My favorite Brisbane restaurant.
I have dined at Gerard's Bistro countless times and each time the team continues to inspire. Staff are friendly, knowledgable and attentive. Head chef Ben Williamson maintains a dedication to creating unique food, flavours and combinations using a variety of techniques. The location in the groovy lane way on the premier James Street precinct is also a huge plus. Overall - best restaurant in Brisbane.
