My wife and I had an absolutely fantastic evening there with the foods that can be only described as sensational. After being in the industry for over a decade, it is refreshing to see a restaurant that has brought to Newcastle an honest cooking of the Mediterranean. A entree of BBQ Squid has brought a childhood memories of family summer lunches and Mussels in spicy tomato sauce accompanied with the fresh sour-dough style bread are amazing. The Alitas (or fried chicken wings) are also very appetizing and the freshnes of citrus is well preserved in the coating... do not make a mistake expecting a crumbed chicken wings... Desert that we shared (Crema catalana) was a exceptional modification of the more French traditional creme brulee. It is a very light and well balanced orange flavored custard with the caramel glaze on top... Although the decor needs improvement, the overall atmosphere and service in the restaurant was outstanding. This is DEFINITELY a restaurant that I will recommend to all of my friends and I will be having a few more dinners there... Keep up the good work.
