Vanilla Zulu is a foodies haven
I first went to Vanilla Zulu to do the chefs skills course and I would never have believed that it would end up being a life changer for me. Since that time back in 2012 I have worked with Mel to audition for Masterchef, I went on to work for Jamie's Italian, became a paleo chef and love how Mel continues to evolve and stay contemporary with traditional culinary skills. Highly recommend to anyone foodie or cook or wants to have so much fun while learning incredible new skills and create absolute taste sensations.

Love it
Meet like minded foodies Laugh a lot Learn a ton of tips and chefs tricks So much inspiration in the air to cook like a master chef

What a fantastic night. The whole evening was very relaxed and super informative. What a fun experience of learning how to ‘bling’ up the simplest dish and also learn how easy it is to cook delicious food and present it like the professionals. The whole evening was so relaxed, it was almost like going out to dinner with your own personal chef stopping by your table sharing their cooking secrets with you. Be warned the classes are addictive – I have already booked in for my next dining/cooking experience.

I first did a Thai Fusion cooking class with Mel last year with a friend, as a birthday gift. Had a fantastic day, and loved the professionalism, yet ease with which Mel operated. This inspired me to sign up for the 6 week Chef Skills course as well, and I loved it. Mel, and the other chefs that she brings in, are inspiring teachers. Not only were we shown the fundamentals of cooking, including knife skills, pastries, breads, meat, seafood, pasta, etc, we were shown how to be flexible cooks; how to use the produce and items that were available to us and be flexible enough to adapt to the changing availability or seasonality of produce. I would highly recommend to anyone looking to enhance their cooking skills to take part in one of Mel's workshops - you will be inspired.

We had a most enjoyable time with Vanilla Zulu. The day started with a wonderful breakfast and continued with morning tea and lunch. Mel provides a wonderful experience close to the city in very pleasant surroundings. The cooking session was extremely entertaining, cheeky and well-rehearsed. Mel provided the guidelines and provided enjoyment and learning for all. The day was designed around team building for our work group and involved 22 individuals which was an ideal number as there was plenty of support staff and all keen to assist. Mel ensured the team bonded well and everyone from the team are now asking when can we go back. Thank you to Mel and her team for making the day a success.
