Classy, sophisticated dining

My family and I have had the pleasure of dining at Restaurant Plage a number of times since it's opening. Each time, we are impressed by the quality of food (presentation and taste are equally commendable) as well as the service. Yuki is friendly and very knowledgeable about the ingredients. It is a pleasure to have her serve us our dinners and always remembers our little quirks and habits each time. Chef Tomo creates a piece of artwork in each dish and is truly a talented at what he does. I would highly recommend restaurant Plage.

I went to Plage last week and am still in awe of the food I ate. Great price for beautiful service and exquisite unique delicate food. Genius food but homey and well priced as a suburban evening out. Not pretentious.

Restaurant Plage Overview

Fusing Japanese flavours with Australian fare, Restaurant Plage on Military Road in Cremorne is fast earning a loyal local following. Plage’s inviting, relaxed vibe of light wooden chairs and black wire lights reflects a cosy, casual décor, where guests can while away the cares of the day by sipping a glass of red and contemplating a menu of taste tempters to tease any palate. Kick off a memorable dining experience with a starter of bonito sashimi with whipped black garlic, black vinaigrette and red miso powder; or perhaps Wagyu beef carpaccio with dashi broth, cured egg yolk, genmai and kombu dashi. Then delve into the likes of market fish, prune and semidried tomato sauce and celeriac puree, making sure to leave room for a dessert of fig and meringue tart with coconut and rum ice cream.

Best Known For

Duck breast, black plum, jus, caramelised French shallots and fig.

The Spring Menu is fresh and retains that high quality of balance of flavours, textures and technique at Restaurant Plage. My favourite dishes were the Cauliflower Blancmange, Salmon Aburi and the Grilled Angus Beef.

Tomoyuki Usui has worked at many top restaurants in Sydney and has recently decided to opened up his own venue called "Restaurant Plage" in Cremorne. Based on his previous stints, there is incredible technique and creativity in his cooking. So how has he designed the menu at Restaurant Plage?
