The Woods of Windsor

After hearing the positive murmurings around town about a very classy newcomer to the fine dining scene on Chapel St, my wife and I booked a table for dinner on a Friday night. We were so glad we did! Although relatively new to the scene, the Woods of Windsor delivers a dining experience you'd expect from a long serving, well established fine dining restaurant. Everything about The Woods was amazing. The service, from the moment we walked in the door, was top notch without being too overly 'in your face'. The staff were very friendly, welcoming and most importantly knowledgeable and were more than accommodating to our every need. The food was outstanding and very reasonably priced. We enjoyed every aspect of the menu we tried but were particularly taken with the stuffed zucchini flowers and pigs trotter fritters! These are a must! For those of us who enjoy a good drink (and who doesn’t??), the wine menu abounds with a veritable smorgasbord of fine wines to compliment any dish you choose, and the bar - the bar! - it was outstanding. A fully stocked whisky bar (mmm single malts!) and a cocktail list reminiscent of something out of 1930's New York, there was something on the menu to tickle the fancy of even the most discerning drinker. We were very impressed with The Woods of Windsor and will be returning in the very near future for what will undoubtedly be another fantastic fine dining experience. Book ahead of time, we’ve got a feeling you’re going to need to before too long!! 5 stars.
