Nestled in Pikes Wines ‘Polish Hill River Estate’ in Sevenhill is award-winning restaurant SLATE. Take in picturesque views of estate vineyards from the alfresco deck with a glass of Riesling in hand, or dine indoors among a romantic and contemporary design of slate, stone and Tasmanian oak. Head Chef, Louis Ritchie delivers his passion for regional dining in a Modern Australian menu, with French, British and Japanese influences. Expect simple yet delicious dishes like kingfish sashimi, kaffir lime oil, lemon thyme and macadamia to start, followed by roast porchetta, fennel cream, mandarin slaw and a side of roasted sweet potato. Finish decadently with white chocolate delice, rhubarb and macadamia; pair your meal with estate-grown wines or craft beer brewed onsite by Pikes Beer Co.

Slate Restaurant at Pikes first opened its doors in October 2018 and has since established itself as one of the Clare Valley's premier culinary destinations.
Led by Head Chef Louis Ritchie, Slate has earned numerous accolades, earning the title of "Cellar Door with Best Food" by Gourmet Traveller Wine Magazine in 2020 and receiving a prestigious Chef Hat from the Australian Good Food Guide (AGFG) for six consecutive years. These accolades reflect the restaurant's commitment to excellence and highlight the Clare Valley as a standout region for food and wine in South Australia.
Slate offers a Modern Australian menu, with dishes that are both simple and full of flavour, showcasing the best of local produce from around the region, including seasonal fruits and vegetables from its very own kitchen garden.
The wine list features the full range of Pikes wines, as well as select reserve and museum wines from the private cellar. On tap, you'll find Pikes Beer Company brews, along with a handpicked selection of premium spirits and freshly brewed coffee available from the bar.
