In the evening the scent of fresh basil, tomato and baking pizza dough drifts onto Albert Street, as loyal locals return time and again for their favourite slice, along with hungry Melburnians who have made the trek along the Western Freeway. Visitors mingle inside the venue and out under the verandah, sitting down to start right away, or saving a tasty Hawaiian pizza, with leg ham and pineapple, until they make it home. Perhaps sample a slice like chipotle marinated chicken with red onion, charred corn, roasted capsicum, pineapple, chipotle aioli and coriander, or pork and fennel sausage, caramelised onion, tomatoes and basil.
