About Peko Peko Restaurant

Meaning hungry in Japanese, Peko Peko Restaurant on Wells Street promises South Melbourne foodies they won’t leave without being satisfied. This modern Taiwanese eatery has a light, bright vibe of polished wood floors, drop globe lights and muted colour palette, ideal for lingering over a tantalising meal with family and friends. There’s a Japanese and Western influence to the menu offering everything from fried chicken to espresso panna cotta; take flight with on your culinary journey with chilli peanut prawn wontons, or perhaps seared scallop and Taiwanese sausage skewers and spicy mayo. Larger appetites are appeased with plates like crispy beef strips, served with wok-tossed onion, capsicum and zesty honey sauce; or try steamed ginger-soy fish, seasonal vegetables and jasmine rice.

You'll never look at Taiwanese food the same ever again.
Food: My go-to choices are: Wasabi Mayo Prawn and Just Wings, Big Boss Fried Ribs, Softshell Crab with Brown Rice or Pork Chop Addiction/Chilli Chicken with Jasmine Rice, and the matcha ice cream. Setting: Cosy. Service: Book ahead, there's ALWAYS a waitlist. Service can sometimes be slow during peak time. Value: Superb value for money.
