For a pub that boasts about its hand-selected steaks, the Norman Hotel falls relatively short of other pubs and restaurants. What we had served was over charred, over cooked and tasteless. Although two sauces accompanied our steaks (in-house bacon sauce as well as mushroom), they tasted like plastic and all you could taste was burnt meat. We were really unimpressed with the food for the price - we expected juicy, tender and flavoursome meat cuts and were left disappointed. Also since you pick-up your own dinner via a buzzer I can't really comment on service other than when our plates were taken away the servers were mute and didn't acknowledge us. Setting wise we were placed outdoors which was quite nice, the chairs they have chosen are very uncomfortable and you certainly couldn't enjoy yourself for more than an hour.
Great steak, awesome vibe and hearty meals. No place for a vegetarian.
A pub that serves very good steaks.
Bit weird how they want a table number when ordering but making you collect the meal yourself.
More than you would expect from a pub. Great steak and a good variety of local and imported beers.
