A few words from Mt Bera Cellar Door, Restaurant and Winery

Mt Bera Vineyards has recently completed a stunning renovation of its cellar door, restaurant, and cellars in Gumeracha. The venue now features beautiful garden seating, a balcony, private dining options, and wine tastings, all set against the breathtaking views of the Torrens Gorge.

Greg and Katrina Horner have transformed Mt Bera into an organic and biodynamic estate. Their commitment to growing and producing wines that reflect the unique micro-terroir of the region, with no additives, is a fundamental principle of all Mt Bera Estate products.

The Horner family finished the winery renovations in mid-2023, reimagining the cellar door into a distinctive three-level space. Each level offers a unique experience for diners, wine tasters, and visitors, combining rustic charm with modern finishes—making it the perfect destination for a day out in the Adelaide Hills.

"We are very proud of the final product of our renovations," said Horner. The space features two underground levels. The lowest level has been transformed into a private dining room adorned with raw rock faces and brick arches. The middle level serves as Mt Bera's cellar door, where guests can enjoy tastings and casual food. The upper level houses the restaurant, which offers indoor and balcony dining, led by chef Manuel Prieto.

Additionally, the venue boasts an expansive outdoor garden area with shaded seating, an outdoor bar, and a wood-fired oven. The restaurant accommodates 70 diners, while the downstairs cellar seats 26. The private dining room can host 14 guests, and the garden area has space for up to 200 people.

"One of the most important aspects is the environment and the space," Horner said. "The restaurant balcony has a beautiful outlook, allowing you to see through the treetops across the Torrens Valley. It's just magnificent."

The restaurant offers an à la carte lunch menu with a variety of small and large plates. Diners can choose from entrées and main courses or opt for share plates to enjoy with family and friends.

The cellar door features a selection from the small plate menu or platters to complement Mt Bera's exquisite organic wine range.

Open Daily, 11am - 5pm.
