Situated on the second floor of Melbourne's Southgate Promenade, Hophaus Bar offers hearty delights all year round. With an Art Deco approach to a traditional dining hall, Hophaus is ideal for groups, with a glazed polychrome brick centrepiece bar and open rotisserie-fired kitchen, adding to the fresh feel. Serving classic European favourites with a contemporary twist, the menu is largely comprised of house-smoked meats, wood-fired oven pleasures and rotisserie-style delicacies. Tuck into lemon pepper calamari to start, before pan-fried pork, potato mash, mushroom sauce and parsley; or pair one of 30 draught beers on tap with char-grilled sirloin, fries, watercress and bone marrow jus. To finish, indulge yourself with apple strudel, warm cinnamon custard and vanilla ice cream.

“This dish is based on duck dishes from Central Europe in the Winter time – namely Germany, Hungary and Austria – using cabbage braised in spices like clove, star anise and red wine vinegar. Hophaus is located on Level 1 of the Southgate Shopping and Restaurant Precinct in Southbank and is a perfect place to hold your next event. The Dining Room can accommodate up to 110 guests or the space can be split up into our internal dining room and our fully sheltered terrace dining room overlooking the Yarra river for smaller groups. For cocktail parties there are both indoor and outdoor spaces available with capacities for events of 10 - 350 people. We can assist with a range of services including food and beverage menu design, entertainment bookings and other event supplies. Please contact us to discuss your event.
