Best Chinese in Townsville
Great food and service. Only restaurant in Townsville that will serve meals until 11.00pm. Never had a bad experience and we go regularly.
Amongst the very best Chinese cuisine anywhere!
Dissapointed
When making our reservation for 7pm we were asked to come in at 6.45 as they were very busy which we did. Unfortunately they were very under staffed resulting in litlle to no service and very lack luster food. My husbands sizzling platter arrived 10 min before my cold uninspiring BBQ pork & then we still had to ask and wait for the fried rice...... All in all very disappointed.
We ordered take away as we have a small child and it was the worst!!! $20 for fried rice with 6 peas, 1/2 egg and a Chinese sausage? Common! How is that Cantonese and how can you charge $20 for it? Spring rolls were oily and almost inedible. Not good!
The restaurant is old fashioned in decor, but they make their sauces and food accompaniments from scratch. The sweet and sour sauce with the spring rolls is clearly homemade. I come here for the Peking duck; it is the best I have had, even when compared to the top restaurants in Melbourne. Their blinis which accompanies it is homemade as well.... Superb.
Had a lovely meal here, beef satay for starter was both juicy and very tasty. I ordered the crispy chicken with pork, scallops and prawns, it was twice the size of my husbands seafood dish so worth bearing in mind as it would make a good dish to share. The chicken was moist with crispy skin and the seafood on both plates of food was cooked great. The vegetables still had a crunch to them and added great flavour and colour to the dish. Rice for one person was more than enough for two. The service was good, we didnt drink any wine but there looked to be an OK choice. Will go back at some point to try some more lovely seafood.
