Tathra–Bermagui Road in Bermagui is home to Mimosa Wines Restaurant, a boutique family-owned dining destination set among the natural beauty of the NSW South Coast. Here, refined cuisine meets a deep respect for seasonality and place, with Head Chef Matteo Ponti drawing on nearly two decades of global culinary experience. Originally from Piedmont in Italy, Matteo brings together the traditions of rural Italian cooking, influences from Southeast Asia and the exceptional produce of the South Coast. Each thoughtfully composed dish reflects sustainability, storytelling and flavour. Paired with a carefully curated wine list highlighting Australian, New Zealand and Italian producers, Mimosa offers an elegant Bermagui dining experience rooted in craft and connection to the land.

A boutique family owned gastronomic restaurant on the South Coast of NSW. We offer a 3 course menu ($110pp) with optional wine pairing ($50).
Head Chef Matteo Ponti brings close to two decades of experience shaped by his roots in the Italian countryside and a global culinary journey. Originally from Piedmont, Matteo earned his first Michelin star at the age of thirty while leading a contemporary Italian kitchen in Singapore, where he spent a decade refining his craft.
His menu at Mimosa is more than a collection of dishes — it's a personal journey. From the traditions of rural Italy, through the vibrant markets of Southeast Asia, to the native produce of the South Coast of NSW, each plate tells a story of season, memory, and travel. With a deep respect for nature and sustainability, Matteo reimagines Italian cuisine through a modern lens, honouring both humble and premium ingredients with the same reverence.
Our wine list has been curated to highlight snippets of the best of Australian, New Zealand wines & Italy. We showcase small, up and coming producers, as well as some of the more established winemakers. Due to our continued commitment to sustainability, we favour growers who embrace organic & biodynamic farming practices.

Stunning
A perfect lunch experience. Food, presentation, wine list and attention. Interesting and distinct flavours, very pretty plates. We stayed as long a possible sipping wine and soaking up the atmosphere and drove home through the spotted gums. A fabulous afternoon.
We had a beautiful lunch experience today at Dry Stone restaurant. The food was great & the atmosphere was perfect. It is a very natural organic decor with open views to the beautiful Australian landscape (along with views of the vineyards). We ordered a bottle of the 2009 Mimosa Tempranillo which I found matched our plates perfectly. Plums, toasty oak & soft tannins made it enjoyable on its own as well as with the food. Honeycomb parfait & an espresso finished off our lunch wonderfully. Thank you & best wishes for 2012. Tristan.
