About Char Restaurant @ Admiralty

Located in the historic grounds of Admiralty House overlooking Darwin Harbour, Char Restaurant on The Esplanade is a must-dine Territory destination. A go-to for locals and visitors alike looking for a special night out, the newly refurbished glass-fronted steakhouse with a courtyard, offers select grilled meats and Modern Australian dishes. The restaurant prides itself in sourcing the best regional produce to match one of the best wine lists in the Top End; think entrees like tempura oysters, with bonito soy, jalapeno salsa and miso mayo, or beef cheek and mustard fruit spring rolls with black pepper caramel. Add some reef to your beef with a main of rib fillet, topped with split bug, truffled bechamel and pangrattato; or delve into linguine of crab, inspired by Chef’s travels to Italy.

Great meal, great selection of dishes
We thoroughly enjoyed our meal. My husband had an entree and main course which were both superbly cooked. I had two entrees, both delicious & substantial. The staff were attentive. & well versed with the menu.

Very Enjoyable meal with plenty to choose from
A couple of us went for dinner for the first time at Char and were not disappointed. Staff were very knowledgeable with a long list of specials- started with the terrine, meatballs and beef ribs which were all fabulous followed by the double steaks with sides of carrots and twice cooked potatoes. The only little compliant was our main course was taken to the wrong table and by the time it was sorted out the steak was luke warm and mine being medium rare was more rare- All in all we would return again.
