For more than 40 years, Cellar 47 on High Street has been bringing a little slice of Italy to Shepparton diners. Angelo and Franca Grasso always had a dream to open an Italian restaurant and now their children Bianca and Johnny have joined the party, at this elegantly sleek venue, where neon signage and a large wood-fired pizza oven set the scene for memorable dining. Settle in with a glass of vino and say ciao to starters such as seared scallops, with garlic parsley mornay and spring onion; or arancini, Bolognese sauce and Parmesan. Lamb shank, braised in red wine and Napoli sauce, with mushrooms, rosemary, potato mash and steamed greens entices for the main; or seafood pizza – Napoli sauce, mozzarella, prawns, scallops, calamari, pesto and garlic – finishing with vanilla panna cotta.
