About Caudan Street Kitchen

Located a short drive from the Gold Coast within the lush surrounds of Sarabah Estate Vineyard, resides Caudan Street Kitchen. Sharing with the vineyard an orchid of fruit trees and flourishing herb garden, Caudan Street offers a secret garden retreat for guests to enjoy alfresco dining in the picturesque backdrop of the hinterland. Harnessing a paddock to plate philosophy enables Caudan Street to source local produce from farmers of the area as well as within their own farm. Select from a menu filled with tasty tapas ideal for sharing like the lamb shank samosas with cauliflower, peas and mint or pressed ham hock, soda bread, cultured butter and achard with a side of brick chips topped with truffle and mayo. Be sure to save room for a sweet ending of Aloda panna cotta and ginger bread.

Hidden wonder in the Hinterland
After hearing that Damien and Rhiannon found a new venue to support their creative edible delights, we knew we had to go along at the first opportunity. We used to visit their Shipping Container Kitchen at the Boundary Street Markets at least 2-3 times per month if not more back in 2015/16. Weren't we surprised when we started to drive up the gravel driveway leading up to the Sarabah Winery and Vinyard Estate.... the views, surroundings and what we would later sample... THE FOOD. They can all only be described as breathtaking! Upon arrival, we sampled the Estate's own Champagne, and were served Curried Potatoe Skins. After wandering around the Gardens and Pond out front, we went back inside to sit down for our meal. We both decided upon the Lightly cured Sea Trout, and the Chick pea and roasted pepper Raviolli, served with sides of Brick chips and truffle mayo, Sarabah garden greens, and Leaves with shallots and radishes. My partner and I hadn't quite tasted any food like this before. The flavours within each dish were not only complimentary, but also different with every mouthful. The colourfully presented meals were sereved on dark charcoal plates. Desserts of Pana Cotta, and Churros with (one of the most non sickly and more-ish) chocolate sauce were later had. This restaurant is approximately 40-50mins South of Logan, and well worth every second of the scenic drive down and back! We can't recommend this restaurant enough, and we will definitely be back again and again.
