The menu focuses on fresh Tasmanian produce, featuring high-quality grass-fed beef from Great Southern Pinnacle and a seafood-tasting plate, containing locally caught fresh Tasmanian oysters and scallops. For the ultimate interactive dining experience, try a stone grill where steak, prawns, scallops, or salmon are cooked to your liking on a 400-degree volcanic stone at the table. Food was amazing and was the perfect way to end our lovely trip in Tasmania. We ate delicious food all over the state but the thing that put this restaurant on top was the incredible service we received. The staff went out of their way to give us a great dining experience. Defiantly recombined!
Dined here on a Sunday for lunch. Straight away we noticed what a cool interior this restaurant has. It's like a combination of modern and old fused together in a way that really worked. Very spacious. Staff were very friendly and professional. Food was great, however took a little bit long to come out. Otherwise great experience.
This place is beyond expectations, the moment u walk in your blown away. Staff very friendly an helpful an menu variety was great, i have been several times now with groups and just family and friends and always had a positive experience. Every time they have been really busy so I recommend booking to not be disappointed by missing out! Definitely my favorite restaurant in Launceston with also the best desserts!

My girlfriend and I went for dinner and from the minute we walked in the door we were amazed the little touches go along way. The food was a mouthwatering. The service was faultless they were so friendly and helpful. Highly recommend it to everyone.
There isn't enough praise available for Cataract On Paterson. The food is cooked perfectly and is delicious. The place is beautiful and well set out. The food is good value for money. And the staff, OMG, I have never known a place to have such friendly and helpful staff like COP does.
The meals here are great quality, especially the steaks. Have enjoyed the experience at this restaurant a few times and never been disappointed. The service is great with happy dedicated staff - such a refreshing change from other restaurants!!

Changed hands November 2013. Now called Catarcat on Paterson. Went on Sunday night. Oysters were some of the freshest we have had. Tried the stonegrill- loved it. I cook for a living and was not keen, but this was great. You are basically cooking your own meat as you like and as you eat it, so you meat will never go cold as the stone stays hot (400c) for over 40 minutes. Dessert is my favourite part of dining out, and I was not diasappointed. We had the caramel cheese cake, just right, not sickly sweet and the chocolate fondant was just divine, chocolatly without being overly sweet. Must try if in Launceston.
