About Boo's Kitchen
Bringing families together through food is the aim of Woolloongabba restaurant Boo’s Kitchen on Annerley Road. With a focus on Northern Thai and Isan cuisine, this bright and breezy eatery has an abundance of natural light from a glass frontage, or dine alfresco under market umbrellas and soak up the sun. Boo’s extensive menu dishes up a collection of her favourites, including starters like succulent grilled chicken skewers, served with housemade satay sauce; or perhaps deep-fried crab and prawn net rolls and plum sauce. Delve into mains of garlic pepper prawns, with seasonal vegetables and jasmine rice; or Chef’s special Thai duck curry, lychee, pineapple and basil, best enjoyed with a glass of Pinot Noir. Finish sweetly with warm chocolate cake, vanilla ice cream and raspberry compote.
A few words from Boo's Kitchen
A little bit about myself. My given name is Bussakorn but with my families love of seafood the nicknamed me Boo which means Crab in Thai !! This of course extended to my little sister who was nicknamed Goong - Prawns in Thai. I still wonder whether it was just fun or their true love of seafood !! Well, my brother and I followed in my mum's footsteps with me starting this restaurant to share my love of food and my brother who is a professional chef,
I grew up in a little village called Puvieng in the North Eastern part of Thailand, called Isan with two brothers and a sister. My father was a rice farmer and my mum sold home made food from a kitchen set up in front of our house. I started very young preparing all the ingredients for my mum to cook before I left for school and when I came back in the afternoons. watching and helping my mum cook gave a me a solid foundation on the Isan, Laos and Thai flavours.
We sat as a family on a mat on the floor with a variety of dishes cooked by my mum, my brother and myself, picking at the sticky rice with our hands and savouring the food. Inevitably, we would be joined by our extended family or friends who were always welcome to share our meals. An Isan meal is all about the coming together of families sharing their food while combining the various flavours from the array of dishes that can be had with sticky rice, jasmine rice or noodles.
With summer coming close and my love of seafood, I have introduced a great fresh Thai Prawn Salad and a Barramundi Salad with fresh herbs and a lemongrass seasoning that is perfect for a summer afternoon or evening...
However, you should try my other favorites such as the Isan Duck Salad (Laab) that is made with premium tender duck and using a all time favorite recipe or indulge in a Papaya Salad Platter, a very original Isan dish that I grew up with or the Crying Tiger or Seua Rong Hai that I specifically have made with tender Wagyu steak...

Boo's Kitchen offers typical Thai Isan style common Thai dishes and non asian dishes - from a Thai style Isan Wagyu Beef salad to Tuscan Chicken served in a creamy sauce with sundried tomatoes. We have a selection of cold and warm canapes and also offer buffet style menus's include Italian meat, chicken and pasta dishes and salads or Asian style stir fries, curries and noodles. Authentic, tasty, fresh and nostalgic
We visited Boo’s as per recommendation and it is the only restaurant in Australia that has transported us back to Thailand with every mouthful. The staff must have thought we were going mad with the huge grins and long drawn out “oooo’s”. Very memorable and just sensational food and service.
A true artisan
Boo is not a chef with a Thai restaurant. She is an artist who, thankfully, has a passion for sharing her amazing creations with us mere mortals. I could never fault anything on the menu, I've had nothing but delicious meals that keep me coming back for more. Such a treasure, thank-you Boo and the team at Boo's Kitchen!

Some of the best Thai cooking you'll taste in Brisbane
When Boo's Kitchen became our local Thai food restaurant, we were thrilled to finally have in our area Thai food that tasted of Thailand, with traditional and regional flavours that weren't 'watered down' for an Australian palate. Boo and her (mostly family), team have worked so hard through some difficult years to keep bringing delicious food to the table, and our Thai friend love eating here (especially when they can ask for dishes that aren't on the menu!). The curry sauces are so good you want to eat them like a soup. Friendly service and chats with Boo make the dining experience personal, as well as delicious.

I travel oz regularly for work and am a sucker for good Thai cuisine. I can honestly say Boo's kitchen has delivered the best tasting Thai food of all those I've visited in Australia every time I have been. If you have not tried, do yourself a favour and book now!

I’ve been a regular customer for a few years and it’s for many reasons. The freshness, quality and flavours of Boo’s food is top class. Boo and her daughters are always so friendly, they light up with smiles when I walk in the door and are genuinely happy to see me. Boo will run out from the kitchen to greet me. It’s such a pleasure whether I’m picking up take away or dining in. They truly value their customers. Every friend I have brought to Boo’s loved it. Also I’m gluten free and there’s plenty of options. Boo’s is in my top 3 places to eat in Brisbane ??

This spoiled many subsequent visits to Thai restaurants back in Australia, as the depth of taste on offer was, well, mighty shallow indeed. We love Boo's Kitchen. While the menu has some of the dishes you know and love (and the curry sauces are amazing!), There are also more traditional northern Thai dishes that are quite different to what's available in most other Thai restaurants. The service is always friendly, with a definite family vibe. We love the depth of flavours and love to try something different each time we go (along with a regular favourite or two!).

We have been going to Boo's Kitchen since it opened and they have also catered a few events for us (next door at the Princess Theatre). The food is amazing, the beef mussaman is the best I have ever had! Lovely staff, Boo and Gerard are very kind and generous people. We always feel right at home when we visit there.
